At Monday’s city council meeting, VFW representatives presented retiring Tea Police Chief Clark Baker with the 2014 Officer of the Year award. Among the accomplishments considered in Baker’s nomination was his role in placing a resource officer in Tea schools, getting patrol vehicles in local squad cars and improving the evidence storage area at the Tea police station.

Baker has worked in law enforcement for 35 years and also spent 23 years in the military. His last day has been set for April 10. “I’m honored to be chosen,” Baker said of the award.
