Dakota Traffic Services expands with new location in Tea
Cousins Cal (left) and Mark Lottman co-own Dakota Traffic Services. The company
recently moved to a new building on the north side of Tea as part of an expansion.
The next time you drive through a construction zone, you could be getting a front row seat to the work of Cal and Mark Lottman and their employees at Dakota Traffic Services.
The DTS staff secure construction zones and make them safer for workers and drivers by laying out temporary signage and street markings. When the job is done, they return to exchange the temporary signs, barricades and cones with permanent signage and pavement markings.
As safety and visibility requirements continue to increase, DTS continues to invest in new equipment and technology, Cal Lottman said. Although improvements in the paint used for road markings has led to spectacular lifespan increases — from about six months to five to seven years — the real magic lies in what lends the markings their prized high-visibility quality: tiny beads of glass.
