TASD Registration Day set for August 15; First day of School August 24

The Tea Area School District is gearing up for several big events. The first of which is district wide registration day, set to take place on Tuesday, August 15th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the high School commons.

This day is for all students grades JK-12 attending Tea Area School District this fall. Students who are new to the district should complete initial registration at the Business Office (131 N. Poplar) as soon as possible.

Tea Area School District this year will utilize a secure and convenient way to confirm and update household and student information. This replaces the handwritten form you complete to update your child(s)’ contact information. As part of the District Registration Annual Update, these steps are mandatory and must be completed prior to your attendance at registration day. Updating contact information for your student(s) is completed through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. While at registration day guardians will be able to pickup a folder/packet for each student, find out who the child’s teacher(s) will be for the year, get class schedule for children grades 6-12, purchase communication folders/agendas, pay Chromebook insurance and class dues, check bus routes, make deposits to lunch accounts, purchase activity passes, and take school pictures.

The second upcoming event is Student/Parent Success Day. This event will replace what was previously known as “Open House.”

For students in 7th and 8th grade the event will be held Monday, August 21st. An open house for parents and students will be held that day from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. with a parent/student meeting at 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.

Student/Parent Success Day for JK-6 and 9-12th grades will take place Tuesday, August 22. The schedule is as follows:

Jr. Kindergarten-5th Grade: 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Individual conferences will be set up via email (parents and students)

6th Grade: 5:15 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. — 6th grade academy (parents and students) Four rotations focused on student success. Conflicting times for other Success Day events will be accommodated for by calling the middle school office.

9th - 12th grades: 12:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. — High School Freshman Academy (students only); 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. — Freshman Orientation with Parents; 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. — High School Open House (parents and students).

The first day of school for the Tea Area School District will be Thursday, August 24.
