With one Region Champion, one runner-up, and three third place finishers, the Tea Area High School wrestling team will have five representatives at the 2019 State A Wrestling Championships.
“Our team as a whole had a great showing and left it all on the line this weekend at the region tournament,” said Titan head wrestling coach, John Niesen. “Our five state qualifiers shined, with three of them wrestling above their seed coming into the tournament. It’s a great feeling to see such growth out of the program and setting the bar a bit higher each year.”
This past Saturday, Feb. 16, the Titans traveled to Sioux Falls to compete in the Region 1A wrestling tournament and found success.
The Titans’ Quincy Hulverson continued his phenomenal wrestling season, earning the Region Championship title at 106 pounds by pinning Madison’s Isaac Henry in 56 seconds in the Championship match.
