American Bank & Trust breaks ground on new location in Tea

American Bank & Trust has officially begun construction on a new building in Tea, marking a significant investment in the community. The new building, located at the corner of North Heritage Parkway and North Gateway Lane, will replace the branch acquired through the bank’s merger with Valley Exchange Bank last year. At the time of the acquisition, American Bank & Trust expressed their commitment to enhancing their presence in Tea with the construction of a new facility.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the nearly 4,000-square-foot building took place on Wednesday, Sept. 11. The branch will initially employ a staff of five, with plans to grow that number to as many as 12 in the future.

American Bank & Trust currently operates three branches within Sioux Falls, one in Lennox, and an existing branch in Tea. The new location is expected to be completed in 10 to 12 months, with an anticipated opening in the summer or fall of next year. Additionally, the bank plans to break ground on a sixth branch at 26th Street and Ellis Road later this year.
