Anderson claims Conference title - Newborg earns runner-up honors

On Monday, Sept. 18 the Tea Area High School boys’ golf team competed in the Dak 12 Conference Meet at Bakker Crossing.
Derek Andersen led the way, winning the Conference title with a score of 70. Andersen shot a 36 and a 34 on the day which was highlighted with an eagle and three birdies.
The Titans’ Keeton Newborg also had a solid day, shooting a 73 to take second. Newborg shot a 36 and a 37 on the day which included three birdies.
Quentin Maag tied for ninth with a 78, shooting a 40 and a 38. Harper Schnabel shot an 87 on the day to finish 36. He shot a 46 and a 41. CJ Slack shot an 88. Brady Sabers shot an 89 with a 47 and a 42. He had one birdie on the day.
As a team the Titans took second place, behind Conference Champs Dakota Valley.
The Titan golfers will compete in the Region 2A Meet this coming Monday, Sept. 25 at The Pointe in Elk Point Jefferson.
