City approves purchase of new meeting software

The Tea City Council met April 7 in a brief meeting.
City administrator Justin Weiland presented information about Diligent Community, an agenda management system that will help streamline meeting prep and meeting minutes. He said the planning commission and park and rec board would also be able to utilize the system. The council approved the contract for $9,700 per year.
The council held public hearings for liquor licenses. They approved the new retail on-off sale wine and cider license for Smudge Studio LLC at 2001 Industrial St. #4, lot 9, block 3, Bakker Landing First Addition. They also approved the retail on-sale liquor license location transfer for North Brothers of SD LLC DBA TItans Tavern from Byron Addition lots 1, 2, 3, block 2 to Byron Addition lots 1, 2, 3, block 2; lots 1 & 2, block 4, Peters 1st Addition to Byron; and lots 3 & N22’ Lot 4, block 4, Peters 1st Addition to Byron.
The license now includes the volleyball courts.
They approved the anniversary step increases for Lenny Przbys, maintenance, to $41.04 and Taylor White, police officer, to $36.46.
Weiland noted that he and the mayor met with Gov. Larry Rhoden last week and talked about their concerns from SB216 and property tax reform.
The council adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
