King Jongejeugd and Queen Burrack to reign over Homecoming festivities

Monday night, Sept. 23 Tea Area High School held their annual Coronation ceremony. The evening opened with the band and cheerleaders providing pre-event entertainment. 

Activities Director, Craig Clayberg, welcomed everyone. 

The Kronos Concert Choir sang the Star Spangled Banner and entertainment was provided by the Titan Dance Team and the Moms of Music. 

The highlight of the night was the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen by last year’s royalty Carter Turek and Jenna Gass. 

Introducing the royalty candidates were Meredith Decker and Melanie Roemen.

Crowned the 2024 Queen was Delainey Burrack. Crowned the 2024 King was Jacob Jongejeugd.

Other Royalty candidates for 2024 included Kalli Boom, Kyla Brown, Claire Hank, Mya Neuhardt, Dereck Andersen, Caleb Kuhnert, Marshall Smythe, and Riley Svanda. Homecoming week festivities wrap up this weekend. 

On Friday, Sept. 27 a Pep Rally will be held at the high school at 11:30 a.m. 

The Tea Area Homecoming Parade will take place on Friday, Sept. 27 at 1:30 p.m. Parade line-up will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Tea Area Middle School parking lot. Parade line-up will occur in the order in which floats arrive.

The parade route will move east on Brian Street from the Middle School, head south on Main Ave., west on Charish Street and north on Cole Ave (returning to the Middle School parking lot). 

Following Friday afternoon’s parade the Tailgating will begin in the high school parking lot at 4:30 p.m. There will be a Hall of Fame Reception at the football field at 5 p.m. The Titan football game against Mitchell will kick-off at 6 p.m. that evening.
