Tea Area High School boys’ soccer kick off 2024 season this Saturday

The Tea Area High School boys’ soccer team is set to begin their 2024 season this Saturday, Aug. 17 in a home match-up against Mitchell.

After reaching the State A Championship game last year and falling short to Sioux Falls Christian, the Titans are looking to make waves competing in Class AA this season.

Team members include Seniors Gavin Kolbeck, Caleb Buus, Jeremy Wiens, Carson Hall; Juniors Kasen Groeneveld, Ethan DeGeest, Juv Banza, Jonathon Howe, Holdyn Del Monaco, Cason Kelling, Raleigh Powell, Gavin Reiners; Sophomores Brax Johnson, Hudson Hadrick, Daylen McKnelly, Conner Case, Bill Kerkula; and Freshman Nathan Hall, Trevin Schwartzle, and Kade Eimers. The team will once again be coached by Zach Jurgens who will be assisted by Ryan Gallagher and Sergio Banuelos. 

Following their home opener on Saturday, the team will travel to Brookings on Aug. 20 and to Watertown on Aug. 27. They will be at home on Aug. 29 taking on Yankton and at home on Aug. 31 against Harrisburg.

On Sept. 5 the team will travel to Huron and on Sept. 10 to Sioux Falls Washington. They will be home on Sept. 14 taking on Sioux Falls Roosevelt. On Sept. 17 they travel to Aberdeen Central. On Sept. 19 they host Brandon Valley and on Sept. 21 they host Pierre TF Riggs. They are at home again on Sept. 24 when they host Sioux Falls Jefferson. 

On Oct. 1 they travel to Sioux Falls O’Gorman and on Oct. 3 they travel to Sioux Falls Lincoln. Playoff action begins Oct. 8 with the State Champion slated for Oct. 19 in Yankton.
